Last week I took my first official golf lesson with a swing doctor. My intentions were to absorb as much information as I could through the semi permeable membrane of my cranium in osmosis like fashion that would aid in the improvement of my golf game (I’m self-taught golfer that got bite by the golf bug a few years ago). The instructor indicated the changes I needed to implement in order to groove (improve) my swing. However, I found myself reverting back to my old incorrect way of swinging the golf club. In my mind I felt as though I was swinging correctly but my body unconsciously reverted by to the wrong swing pattern.
How often do we struggle like this in our daily lives?
In our minds we know the right swing pattern (actions, decisions, behavioral responses) to make however, we allow ourselves to regress back into our old manner of swinging (repeating past mistakes, making wrong decisions etc.).
“The truth of the matter is that you always know the right thing to do. The hard part is doing it.” – Gent. H. Norman Schwarzkopf
If you apply the correct golf swing as you play the 18 holes of your life, you’ll experience success via birdies, eagles, double eagles and hole in one’s along the way!
Which swing do you plan on making?
